The Opportunity

Begin your career at the intersection of technology and public service.

The U.S. Digital Corps is a new two‑year fellowship to launch your career at the intersection of technology and public service.

The fellowship is a paid, full-time opportunity that will offer a competitive salary and benefits.

Who we’re looking for

The U.S. Digital Corps is an early‑career technology opportunity for those from undergraduate and graduate degree programs, apprenticeships, bootcamps, and reskilling and other training programs. Because we are seeking technologists who have recently completed their programs, no prior full-time work experience is required, though we expect candidates to have the requisite technical skills and training.

While we build a big tent around what it means to be a technologist—including software engineering, product management, design, data science and analysis, and cybersecurity—we recognize that technology is a means, not an end. As such, we’re looking for candidates who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and contribute in any way, technical or otherwise, to create a government that better serves all Americans.

Fellows can expect to work in a variety of environments, including working independently or with teams and stakeholders, interviewing users and members of the public, and collaborating across agencies. Government technology and civic tech is a team sport, and we expect Digital Corps Fellows to be empathetic, collaborative, and mission-oriented.

Deliver high-impact work

Fellows will be matched with federal agencies based on their skill sets and interests and will work on pressing priorities to better serve the public. Priorities include:

  • Economic recovery
  • Racial equity
  • COVID-19 response
  • Health care
  • Climate

Grow personally and professionally

The Digital Corps will invest in Fellows’ career growth with a dedicated learning and development curriculum and individual performance plans, helping you mature as a technologist and sharpen the problem solving skills that will make you more effective in creating impact in government and other large organizations.

Join a supportive, diverse community

Digital Corps Fellows will join a welcoming community of supportive mentors and passionate peers that includes fellow government technologists, and organizations like Presidential Innovation Fellows, U.S. Digital Service, and 18F.

More information about the Digital Corps fellowship and application will be available later this fall. Join our mailing list to stay in the loop.
